In addition to the standard curriculum, sixth through eighth grade students also receive:
• Departmentalized teaching – each student rotates through six teachers with different specialties
• In addition to Language, Literature, Spelling and Handwriting the junior high student has specialized curriculum for research, vocabulary and essay writing (eighth grade is using 10th grade vocabulary curriculum)
• Freshman College level writing standards in eighth grade.
• Eighth grade: Class advances to 9th grade level honors Geometry after completing Algebra I textbook
• Each student receives preparation for high school placement testing as well as individual counseling for the high school application process during eighth grade. |
